The Valparaiso University men s and women s track and field teams opened the 2019-20 season Friday at Notre Dame s Blue & Gold Invitational. Sierra Fischer (Brookfield, Wis./ Brookfield) started the campaign off on the right foot, nearing the program record for the 400-meter dash. Fellow senior Bryce Otterbach (Mendota, Ill./ Mendota Township) also enjoyed a successful start to the season, recording two PRs.
